Before your child starts

  • 16 questions, 6 minutes, two sections of eight, timed exactly as they are in the GrammarPath papers.
  • Cubes and Nets, then 3D Building Blocks. These are the actual sections from GrammarPath Papers 3 and 4, not lookalikes.
  • Nothing to draw. Every diagram is on screen. Rough working on paper beside them is fine.
  • Sit them somewhere quiet and leave them to it.
  • Nothing is saved unless you choose to share it. The test runs entirely in your browser.

The real West Midlands entrance test is written and provided by GL Assessment, as the partnership confirms. These maths questions are written by us to that published format.

What this can and cannot tell you. None of the partnership schools release past papers, so no practice test anywhere, including this one, is the real thing. Treat the result as a diagnosis of which topics need work, never as a prediction of a score. Real marks are standardised by age on a scale the schools do not publish.
