Privacy Policy

How we collect, use and protect your personal information.

Last updated: 29 July 2026

GrammarPath ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who We Are

GrammarPath provides Birmingham and West Midlands 11+ exam preparation materials as digital downloads, and is a product of Bright Mentors. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the "data controller" of the personal information you provide. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at hello@grammarpath.co.uk.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect information that we need in order to provide our products and services:

  • Contact details: your name and email address when you request a free mock paper or make a purchase.
  • Purchase information: details of the products you buy. Payments are taken by Gumroad, our checkout provider; your card details are entered on Gumroad's secure checkout and we never see or store your full card number.
  • Technical data: basic analytics such as pages visited and general location, collected to help us improve the website.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To deliver the free mock paper or paid products you have requested.
  • To send you the download links and receipts associated with your order.
  • To respond to your enquiries and provide customer support.
  • To send you occasional updates or offers about GrammarPath products, where you have agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To improve our website, products and service.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to deliver products you have purchased), consent (for marketing emails and the free mock paper), and legitimate interests (to improve our service and prevent fraud).

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run our business, specifically:

  • Gumroad: to process payments and deliver your downloads securely.
  • Netlify: to host our website and handle form submissions.
  • Our email and analytics providers: to send order and update emails and to understand how the site is used.

These providers are only permitted to use your data to provide services to us and are bound by their own data protection obligations.

6. Data Retention

We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary. Purchase records are retained for up to six years to meet accounting and tax obligations. Marketing contact details are retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Object to or restrict how we process your data.
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@grammarpath.co.uk. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

8. Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies to function and may use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Where required, we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Payments are handled through Gumroad's PCI-compliant checkout, and our website is served over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.

10. Children's Privacy

Our products are purchased by parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children. Where information relates to a child (for example, in the course of preparation), it is provided and controlled by the parent or guardian.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review it periodically.
