Why this pack works

  • One topic, taken all the way, 140 questions on Fractions, Decimals and Percentages alone, not a handful buried in a mixed paper.
  • Every wrong option traces to one specific, named mistake, not just marked “incorrect”.
  • Marks itself. You never hand-mark 140 questions or line up an answer key.
  • Difficulty climbs Bronze → Silver → Gold inside every test.
  • Written for the 11+ maths syllabus every board tests, not tied to one region's schools.
  • Works on any device, and the printable PDF is included at no extra cost.

Try a free timed maths test first.

Twenty questions in twenty minutes, in the GL format, marked the moment your child finishes, with a breakdown of which topics need work. No sign-up.

Is this right for your child?

Buy it if

  • Your child keeps dropping marks on Fractions, Decimals and Percentages specifically
  • They have met the topic in class and need it to become automatic
  • You want 140 questions on one topic, not three buried in a mixed paper

Skip it if

  • They have never been taught Fractions, Decimals and Percentages, this tests, it does not teach

Sample explanations

This is what every wrong answer gets

Three real questions from the pack, with the explanation exactly as it appears in the mark scheme, one Bronze, one Silver, one Gold.

Q3BronzeDecimal Place Value

What is the value of the digit 4 in the number 63.749?

A4B0.4C0.004D40E0.04
Worked solution
1After the decimal point the columns are tenths, hundredths and thousandths.
2The 7 is in the tenths column and the 4 is in the hundredths column.
3So the 4 is worth 0.04.
Where marks are lost
Every wrong option is a specific error: A Gave the digit itself rather than what it is worth.  ·  B Read the 4 as being in the tenths column.  ·  C Read the 4 as being in the thousandths column.  ·  D Read the digit as a whole-number column.
Tip for parents

Naming the columns in order from the decimal point is what keeps the place straight.

Q11SilverEquivalent Fractions

The diagram shows a hundred square with some of its small squares shaded. What fraction of the hundred square is shaded, written in its simplest form?

A40/100B4/10C2/5D1/2E3/5
Worked solution
140 of the 100 small squares are shaded, so the fraction is 40/100.
2Divide both parts by 10 to get 4/10.
3Divide both parts by 2 again to get 2/5.
Where marks are lost
Every wrong option is a specific error: A Counted correctly but did not simplify at all.  ·  B Simplified once and stopped.  ·  D Rounded the shaded amount to about a half.  ·  E Gave the unshaded fraction instead of the shaded one.
Tip for parents

Two rounds of dividing are needed here; stopping at 4/10 is only half the job.

Q3GoldAdding and Subtracting Fractions

What is the value of 5/6 − 3/8 + 1/4 when it is written in its simplest form?

A3/8B1/2C11/24D3/24E17/24
Worked solution
1Sixths, eighths and quarters all go into twenty-fourths.
25/6 is 20/24, 3/8 is 9/24 and 1/4 is 6/24.
3Work from left to right: 20/24 − 9/24 = 11/24.
4Then 11/24 + 6/24 = 17/24, which will not simplify.
Where marks are lost
Every wrong option is a specific error: A Subtracted the last fraction instead of adding it.  ·  B Rounded the answer to about a half.  ·  C Stopped after the subtraction and forgot to add 1/4.  ·  D Added and subtracted the numerators in the wrong order.
Tip for parents

Converting all three fractions first means the additions and subtractions can be done in one line.

Drill the topic until it stops costing marks.

How we check

We check the answers before you have to.

Most 11+ material asks you to take the answer key on trust. Ours is machine-checked and the check is tied to the questions by a content hash, edit a question and the build refuses to produce the pack until it has been verified again. That is a gate in the build, not a promise on a sales page.

Every answer re-solvedAll 140 questions were solved again from scratch by a separate check and compared with the stated answer. All 140 agreed.
Every wrong option namedEach of the four wrong options traces to one specific misconception, so a wrong answer tells you which mistake was made.
Checked against the whole rangeQuestions and diagrams are compared across every pack we sell, so nothing you buy twice is the same question twice.

FAQs

Which exam is this for?

GL Assessment, FSCE and Quest. The 11+ maths syllabus is national, Fractions, Decimals and Percentages is on the syllabus for all of them. What differs is format. Every question here is five-option multiple choice against the clock, which mirrors GL and CEM-style papers directly. If your child sits a written-answer paper such as CSSE in Essex or an independent school's own, use these to build topic fluency and speed, then rehearse setting out working on that school's past papers.

Is this one topic only?

Yes, deliberately. All 140 questions are Fractions, Decimals and Percentages, spread across 8 sub-topics, so a weak area gets drilled properly rather than meeting three questions on it in a mixed paper.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It's a link that opens in the browser on a laptop, tablet or school Chromebook. The PDF is a normal download.

How long do I have access?

Permanently. It's a one-off purchase, not a subscription, and the PDF is yours to keep and reprint.
