Q1BronzeAddition and Subtraction

A stadium in Perry Barr had 8450 seats. Another 1275 seats were then added, and 340 seats were removed to make room for a walkway. How many seats are there now?

Q8SilverPercentages

A shop in Walsall sells a chair for £120 and then increases the price by 15%. What is the new price of the chair?

Q16GoldReverse Reasoning

The function machine in the diagram multiplies a number by 4 and then subtracts 9. When one number is put in, 23 comes out. What comes out if a number 5 greater is put in instead?

Why this pack works

  • 100 questions over 4 timed tests, spanning 21 maths topics, the mix a real 11+ paper draws from.
  • Every wrong option traces to one specific, named mistake, not just marked “incorrect”.
  • Marks itself. You never hand-mark 100 questions or line up an answer key.
  • Bronze, Silver and Gold difficulty inside every test, not one test per level.
  • 40 diagrams drawn from 40 different types, so no two tests look alike.
  • Set in real places and everyday situations, market stalls, bus fares, school trips, so the maths reads like life, not a worksheet.

Try a free timed maths test first.

Twenty questions in twenty minutes, in the GL format, marked the moment your child finishes, with a breakdown of which topics need work. No sign-up.

Sample explanations

This is what every wrong answer gets

Three real questions from the pack, with the explanation exactly as it appears in the mark scheme, one Bronze, one Silver, one Gold.

Q2BronzeTime and Timetables

The calendar shows October, with the 7th shaded. A school trip leaves on the shaded date and returns on the 19th of the same month. How many nights are the pupils away?

A13B7C19D11E12
Worked solution
1The trip runs from the 7th to the 19th.
2Number of nights: 19 − 7 = 12 nights away.
Where marks are lost
Every wrong option is a specific error: A Counted both the leaving and returning dates as nights.  ·  B Gave the date the trip leaves instead of the nights away.  ·  C Gave the date the trip returns instead of the nights away.  ·  D Counted the nights but left one out.
Tip for parents

Nights away is the difference between the dates, not the number of dates involved.

Q9SilverRatio and Proportion

A fruit punch at a party in Smethwick mixes orange and cranberry juice in the ratio 5 : 4. The bowl holds 1800 ml of punch altogether. How many millilitres of cranberry juice are in the bowl?

A200B800C1000D900E450
Worked solution
1The ratio has 5 + 4 = 9 equal parts.
2One part is 1800 ÷ 9 = 200 ml.
3Cranberry is 4 parts: 4 × 200 = 800 ml.
Where marks are lost
Every wrong option is a specific error: A Gave the value of one part instead of the four parts of cranberry.  ·  C Gave the orange juice instead of the cranberry.  ·  D Split the bowl in half instead of using the ratio.  ·  E Divided the bowl by 4 instead of by 9.
Tip for parents

The 1800 ml is the whole bowl, so it is divided by 9 rather than by 4.

Q17GoldMoney

A shop in Erdington, open since 2019, buys 90 mugs at £3 each and sells them at £8 each. It sells 70 of the mugs and breaks the rest. How much profit does the shop make?

A£560B£270C£450D£350E£290
Worked solution
1Cost: 90 × £3 = £270.
2Money taken: 70 × £8 = £560.
3Profit: £560 − £270 = £290.
Where marks are lost
Every wrong option is a specific error: A Gave the money taken without subtracting the cost.  ·  B Gave the cost of the mugs instead of the profit.  ·  C Sold all 90 mugs instead of 70.  ·  D Costed only the 70 mugs sold instead of all 90 bought.
Tip for parents

All 90 mugs were paid for, including the 20 that broke.

How we check

We check the answers before you have to.

Most 11+ material asks you to take the answer key on trust. Ours is machine-checked and the check is tied to the questions by a content hash, edit a question and the build refuses to produce the pack until it has been verified again. That is a gate in the build, not a promise on a sales page.

Every answer re-solvedAll 100 questions were solved again from scratch by a separate check and compared with the stated answer. All 100 agreed.
Every wrong option namedEach of the four wrong options traces to one specific misconception, so a wrong answer tells you which mistake was made.
Checked against the whole rangeQuestions and diagrams are compared across every pack we sell, so nothing you buy twice is the same question twice.

Which exam is this for?

11+ maths for GL, CEM-style, CSSE, SET and independent entrance. The 11+ maths syllabus is national, number, fractions, ratio, percentages, measures, shape, area and data are tested by every board, so the content suits all of them. What differs is format. Every question here is five-option multiple choice against the clock, which mirrors GL and CEM-style papers directly. If your child sits a written-answer paper such as CSSE in Essex or an independent school's own, use these to build topic fluency and speed, then rehearse setting out working on that school's past papers. A few questions are set in West Midlands places such as the Bull Ring, that's local colour, and the maths is identical wherever you live.

Is this one topic or mixed?

Mixed, like the real paper, 100 questions spread over 21 topics, from number and money to area, angles and data handling.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It's a link that opens in the browser on a laptop, tablet or school Chromebook. The PDF is a normal download.

How long do I have access?

Permanently. It's a one-off purchase, not a subscription, and the PDF is yours to keep and reprint.
