Q1BronzeAddition and Subtraction

On a market stall in the Bull Ring, a trader starts the day with 84 apples for sale. She sells 27 apples in the morning and 19 apples in the afternoon. How many apples does she have left at the end of the day?

Q8SilverMultiplication and Division

A cinema at Star City has 18 rows of seats with 14 seats in each row. For a special afternoon screening, 205 tickets are sold. How many seats are empty for the screening?

Q16GoldMoney

A market trader at the Bullring buys a crate of 240 oranges for £50. He sells the oranges in bags of 8 for £2.50 per bag, and also pays a £5 stall fee for the day. If he sells all the oranges in bags, how much profit does he make after paying the stall fee?

Why this pack works

  • All 400 questions across the 4 packs are different, nothing is repeated, so the bundle is 400 of practice, not 100.
  • One interactive file and one PDF covering all 16 tests, not a zip of four separate packs to manage.
  • Every wrong option traces to one specific, named mistake, not just marked “incorrect”.
  • Marks itself. You never hand-mark 400 questions or line up an answer key.
  • 160 diagrams drawn from 40 different types, so no two tests look alike.
  • Set in real places and everyday situations, so the maths reads like life, not a worksheet.

Try a free timed maths test first.

Twenty questions in twenty minutes, in the GL format, marked the moment your child finishes, with a breakdown of which topics need work. No sign-up.

Is this right for your child?

Buy it if

  • Year 5 or early Year 6, six to twelve months before the test
  • They know the maths but lose marks to time pressure or careless slips
  • You want to find the weak topics rather than guess at them

Skip it if

  • They are meeting these topics for the first time, this tests, it does not teach
  • You need written-answer practice with method marks, as CSSE and most independent papers set

Sample explanations

This is what every wrong answer gets

Three real questions from the pack, with the explanation exactly as it appears in the mark scheme, one Bronze, one Silver, one Gold.

Q4BronzeData Handling

The tally chart shows the pets kept by pupils in a class at a school in Erdington. How many more cats than fish are there?

A3B5C19D12E2
Worked solution
1Read the cats row: 12 pupils.
2Read the fish row: 7 pupils.
3Difference: 12 − 7 = 5.
Where marks are lost
Every wrong option is a specific error: A Compared cats with dogs instead of cats with fish (12−9).  ·  C Added the two totals instead of subtracting them.  ·  D Gave the number of cats without comparing at all.  ·  E Compared dogs with fish instead of cats with fish (9−7).
Tip for parents

Counting tally marks in groups of five is the skill; each gate of five plus the leftovers.

Q9SilverPerimeter

The diagram shows a circular flower bed at a park in Selly Oak, with its radius marked. Low edging is laid all the way around the bed. Taking the distance around a circle as roughly 3 times its diameter, what length of edging is needed?

A21 mB14 mC7 mD28 mE42 m
Worked solution
1The radius is 7 m, so the diameter is 2 × 7 = 14 m.
2The distance around is roughly 3 times the diameter.
33 × 14 = 42 m of edging.
Where marks are lost
Every wrong option is a specific error: A Tripled the radius instead of the diameter (3×7).  ·  B Gave the diameter instead of the distance around the bed.  ·  C Gave the radius instead of the distance around the bed.  ·  D Doubled the diameter instead of tripling it.
Tip for parents

The radius must be doubled to a diameter before multiplying; tripling the radius is the classic slip.

Q17GoldAngles

The diagram shows three angles meeting at a point on a straight line, two of which measure 62° and 48°. The remaining angle is split into two parts in the ratio 2 : 3. What is the size of the larger part?

A70°B28°C14°D35°E42°
Worked solution
1Angles on a straight line total 180°.
2The remaining angle is 180 − 62 − 48 = 70°.
3The ratio 2 : 3 has 5 units, so one unit is 70 ÷ 5 = 14°.
4The larger part takes 3 units: 3 × 14 = 42°.
Where marks are lost
Every wrong option is a specific error: A Gave the whole remaining angle without splitting it.  ·  B Gave the smaller part instead of the larger one.  ·  C Gave the value of one unit instead of the larger part.  ·  D Split the remaining angle equally instead of in the ratio 2 : 3.
Tip for parents

Angles on a line and sharing in a ratio combine; stopping at 70° means only half the work is done.

Everything, for less than four packs.

400 questions across 16 timed tests, none repeated. One interactive file and one PDF, nothing to assemble.

How we check

We check the answers before you have to.

Most 11+ material asks you to take the answer key on trust. Ours is machine-checked and the check is tied to the questions by a content hash, edit a question and the build refuses to produce the pack until it has been verified again. That is a gate in the build, not a promise on a sales page.

Every answer re-solvedAll 400 questions were solved again from scratch by a separate check and compared with the stated answer. All 400 agreed.
Every wrong option namedEach of the four wrong options traces to one specific misconception, so a wrong answer tells you which mistake was made.
Checked against the whole rangeQuestions and diagrams are compared across every pack we sell, so nothing you buy twice is the same question twice.

Is this just the four packs zipped together?

No. It's one interactive file and one PDF covering all 16 tests, so there's nothing to assemble. If you already own a single pack, note that the bundle contains it, you'd be buying those 100 questions twice.

Are any questions repeated between the packs?

No. All 400 are unique, and that's enforced by a check across the whole range at build time, not by eye.

Which exam is this for?

11+ maths for GL, CEM-style, CSSE, SET and independent entrance. The 11+ maths syllabus is national, number, fractions, ratio, percentages, measures, shape, area and data are tested by every board, so the content suits all of them. What differs is format. Every question here is five-option multiple choice against the clock, which mirrors GL and CEM-style papers directly. If your child sits a written-answer paper such as CSSE in Essex or an independent school's own, use these to build topic fluency and speed, then rehearse setting out working on that school's past papers. A few questions are set in West Midlands places such as the Bull Ring, that's local colour, and the maths is identical wherever you live.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It's a link that opens in the browser on a laptop, tablet or school Chromebook. The PDF is a normal download.

How long do I have access?

Permanently. It's a one-off purchase, not a subscription, and the PDF is yours to keep and reprint.
