Three questions from the packLive preview
Q1BronzeMean

The five children in a reading group read 3, 5, 4, 6 and 2 books one month. What is the mean number of books read?

Q8SilverTables and Timetables

The table shows how many goals a team scored in each of its matches. In how many matches did the team score at least 2 goals?

Q1GoldReading Bar Charts

The bar chart shows how many sandwiches a shop sold on each of five days. On how many days did sales beat the mean for the week?

Why this pack works

  • One topic, taken all the way, 140 questions on Data, Statistics and Averages alone, not a handful buried in a mixed paper.
  • Every wrong option traces to one specific, named mistake, not just marked “incorrect”.
  • Marks itself. You never hand-mark 140 questions or line up an answer key.
  • Difficulty climbs Bronze → Silver → Gold inside every test.
  • Written for the 11+ maths syllabus every board tests, not tied to one region's schools.
  • Works on any device, and the printable PDF is included at no extra cost.

Try a free timed maths test first.

Twenty questions in twenty minutes, in the GL format, marked the moment your child finishes, with a breakdown of which topics need work. No sign-up.

Is this right for your child?

Buy it if

  • Your child keeps dropping marks on Data, Statistics and Averages specifically
  • They have met the topic in class and need it to become automatic
  • You want 140 questions on one topic, not three buried in a mixed paper

Skip it if

  • They have never been taught Data, Statistics and Averages, this tests, it does not teach
  • You want broad coverage before the exam, a mixed Maths Pack fits better

Sample explanations

This is what every wrong answer gets

Three real questions from the pack, with the explanation exactly as it appears in the mark scheme, one Bronze, one Silver, one Gold.

Q3BronzeMedian, Mode and Range

Seven children scored 5, 8, 6, 8, 9, 7 and 8 in a spelling test. What is the mode of their scores?

A7B6C9D8E5
Worked solution
1The mode is the score that appears most often.
28 appears three times; every other score appears once.
3So the mode is 8.
Where marks are lost
Every wrong option is a specific error: A Gave the middle score of the list as written.  ·  B Gave the second-lowest score.  ·  C Gave the highest score rather than the most common.  ·  E Gave the lowest score rather than the most common.
Tip for parents

The mode is the value itself, not how many times it appears, the answer is 8, not 3.

Q10SilverReading Line Graphs

The line graph shows how many books a shop sold in each of four weeks. The shop is open 6 days a week. How many more books did it sell in Week 4 than in Week 3?

A9B6C12D3E24
Worked solution
1Read Week 4 against the scale: 24 books.
2Read Week 3: 15 books.
324 - 15 = 9 books. The 6 opening days are not needed.
Where marks are lost
Every wrong option is a specific error: B Read Week 3 as 18 rather than 15.  ·  C Read Week 3 as 12 rather than 15.  ·  D Compared Week 2 with Week 1 instead.  ·  E Gave the Week 4 figure rather than the difference.
Tip for parents

The gridlines rise in 6s, so a point halfway between two of them is 3 above the lower one. The number of opening days has nothing to do with this question.

Q2GoldPictograms

A pictogram uses a symbol worth 9 points. One row shows 3 and two thirds symbols. How many points is that?

A30B36C33D27E39
Worked solution
1Three whole symbols stand for 3 x 9 = 27 points.
2Two thirds of a symbol is two thirds of 9.
3A third of 9 is 3, so two thirds is 6 points.
427 + 6 = 33 points.
Where marks are lost
Every wrong option is a specific error: A Took two thirds of a symbol as 3 points.  ·  B Rounded up to 4 whole symbols.  ·  D Ignored the part symbol.  ·  E Took two thirds of a symbol as 12 points.
Tip for parents

Take the fraction of the key, not of a point: two thirds of 9 is 6.

How we check

We check the answers before you have to.

Most 11+ material asks you to take the answer key on trust. Ours is machine-checked and the check is tied to the questions by a content hash, edit a question and the build refuses to produce the pack until it has been verified again. That is a gate in the build, not a promise on a sales page.

Every answer re-solvedAll 140 questions were solved again from scratch by a separate check and compared with the stated answer. All 140 agreed.
Every wrong option namedEach of the four wrong options traces to one specific misconception, so a wrong answer tells you which mistake was made.
Checked against the whole rangeQuestions and diagrams are compared across every pack we sell, so nothing you buy twice is the same question twice.

FAQs

Which exam is this for?

GL Assessment, FSCE and Quest. The 11+ maths syllabus is national, Data, Statistics and Averages is on the syllabus for all of them. What differs is format. Every question here is five-option multiple choice against the clock, which mirrors GL and CEM-style papers directly. If your child sits a written-answer paper such as CSSE in Essex or an independent school's own, use these to build topic fluency and speed, then rehearse setting out working on that school's past papers.

Is this one topic only?

Yes, deliberately. All 140 questions are Data, Statistics and Averages, spread across 8 sub-topics, so a weak area gets drilled properly rather than meeting three questions on it in a mixed paper.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It's a link that opens in the browser on a laptop, tablet or school Chromebook. The PDF is a normal download.

How long do I have access?

Permanently. It's a one-off purchase, not a subscription, and the PDF is yours to keep and reprint.
